We are thrilled to be partnering with Better Medical on the appointment of a new and critical role, National Nursing Lead.

About the Role

This is an exciting time to join Better Medical in a Senior, National role where you will provide high level leadership to the nursing team. The National Nursing Lead is a member of the Better Medical Clinical Advisory Board (CAB) who together, help management to continually and collaboratively monitor and improve the clinical workforce, clinical governance, positive culture, clinician education and training, and new technologies and innovation. This strategic role is to ensure the business is delivering best practice clinical services whilst enabling others to achieve organisational strategic outcomes. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Lead a National team and promote best practice management of nursing services
  • Promote and implement continuous development and innovation in nursing services
  • Conduct continual clinical risk analysis and mitigation
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, standards and policies
  • Be responsible for the recruitment, training and retention of Practice Nurses
  • Develop strategies and policies on nursing, patient care and related service delivery issues
  • General Practice Supervisor activity and General Practice Registrar training and site accreditation

About You

As the National Nursing Lead, you will present as a role model throughout the organisation, establishing and and maintaining the ability to positively influence senior staff, executives and clinicians; to fostering the organisation's priorities and values. We are looking for a positive and engaging leader who has proven experience leading and managing Practice Nurses. Things that are essential:

  • Registration or eligibility for registration, as a Registered Nurse, with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Registered Practice Nurse in Primary Care
  • A sound understanding of nursing regulatory frameworks and General Practice nursing
  • Australian state drivers’ licence
  • Current Working with Vulnerable Persons and Working with Children clearance
