Company Overview

In 2008, Adelaide teenager Sam Davis fell victim to a violent and unprovoked one-punch assault that cost him his life. Sam’s death is part of an alarming trend in our society around alcohol and other drug fuelled violence. The Foundation was founded with the ultimate aim of preventing such a tragedy from ever happening again. Through education and awareness programs on bullying prevention, violence prevention and alcohol and other drug education, the Sammy D Foundation offers advice and support to people of all ages, it has equipped more than 150,000 young people across South Australia throughout schools and sporting clubs with the knowledge needed to keep themselves and their mates safe.

Role Overview

Due to strong business growth, the Sammy D Foundation is now seeking an enthusiastic and energetic full-time Education and Mentoring Coordinator who values COURAGE in the face of adversity, the INCLUSION of all, and mutually RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS built on TRUST.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of the designated Sammy D programs;
  • Contributing to the promotion of Sammy D programs and the coordination of bookings;
  • Participating in program delivery in a range of schools, sporting clubs and community organisations across the state;
  • Coordinating small community engagement activities;
  • Contributing positively to the effective growth of all aspects of the Foundation;
  • Managing a Youth Mentoring program;
  • Assisting with grant applications.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience

The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s licence as this role will be required to travel. Sammy D Foundation is seeking a committed and motivated individual who holds Certificate IV (or higher) in Youth Work or be willing to complete the required qualification. Candidates with strong program coordination skills and experience are highly desirable for this role.
