The Senior Accreditation Officer role offers an outstanding career opportunity for a professional who is passionate about using their expertise and leadership to support VIT in its regulation of initial teacher education programs and Victorian teachers.

With expert knowledge and practice, strong professional affiliations and a wide network, the role will ensure VIT continues to regulate for quality teaching through the functions of accreditation.

About you

As an experienced professional, you will have sound and practical knowledge of current regulatory practices and/or the role of accreditation. You will have experience working within a team based environment, a well-developed understanding of the education sector, and ideally a passion for child safety and experience working in accreditation.

You will have strong work ethic combined with a highly organised approach and a proven track record in accreditation. In addition to this, as the successful candidate, you will have:
  • a background in providing specialist advice in a professional regulation context
  • a proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

    About the role

    Salary range: $98,708 - $109,067 per annum plus 9.5% super

    Be part of a forward-thinking, risk based regulator where ideas and opinions are valued. This role will require you to:

    • Manage the operational and reporting processes for the accreditation of ITE programs using the VIT risk management framework and quality management system. This will include the role of an Executive Officer, guiding and advising the accreditation panel in its assessment of ITE programs and the finalisation of reports for Accreditation Committee.
    • Work within a team-based environment to manage the people and resources associated with matters associated with the accreditation of ITE programs, pathway programs and continuing education programs and related functions of accreditation. Including internal staff and panels, Committee and Accreditation Expert Group members and external stakeholders. Providing expert information and advice to VIT senior managers and other staff as required.
    • Keep informed about ITE program accreditation within and outside Australia and advise the Accreditation Manager and senior management about emerging issues that may impact the work of the accreditation unit.
    • Contribute to the development of internal and external stakeholder engagement strategies and work collegially with external partners and internal team members to achieve outcomes.
    • Prepare and present policy, guideline documents, reports, resources and other correspondence related to the National Standards and Procedures and/or Guidelines for the Accreditation of initial teacher education programs and related matters.
    • Represent VIT on external committees, forums and facilitate seminars/workshops as required.
