Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dynamic Clinical Midwife Educator to join our team at Canterbury Hospital!

Do you have a current midwifery registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and relevant post registration experience in the specialty?

Do you hold a relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications, or such education and clinical experience?

This position is responsible for education throughout the Antenatal Clinic, Birthing Unit and Postnatal Unit.

The purpose of this position is to contribute to the overall improvement of health service delivery.

The Clinical Midwife Educator provides support and clinical development/ training to staff while fostering a preceptor/mentor role. The role formulates, coordinates, and evaluates unit based educational programs; assessment and demonstration of clinical procedures.

The aim of the position is to use a participation methodology to build:

  • The capacity of individuals to deliver safe, evidenced based care, incorporating reflective practice with the aim of continual improvement.

  • A woman and family focused culture that supports the MUM and staff to deliver innovative models of care and proactively manage change.
