    Position Summary:

    The Occupational Therapist role is primarily responsible for the assessment and facilitation of services to clients in all aspects of their daily life, through assessment, intervention and ongoing support to clients and their families.

    As a member of our dementia specialist community allied health team, you will be working with people living with younger onset dementia as well as supporting older clients with cognitive impairment at home.


    Essential

    1. BSc (Occupational Therapy) or a MSc (Occupational Therapy)
    2. AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
    3. Working knowledge of the NDIS
    4. Experience in working with people living with dementia in a person-centred approach
    5. Ability to work effectively in a small multi-disciplinary team.
    6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders.
    7. Sound knowledge and skill in using MS Office suite.
    8. Current Police Clearance (not older than 6 months)
    9. Current and valid WA driver’s licence

    Desirable

    1. Experience in occupational therapy in community care
    2. Experience as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner
    3. Knowledge and experience of working with people with dementia in a range of care settings, such as acute, primary, community or residential aged care.
    4. Experience in adapting the home environment to maximise independence
