What You'll Be Doing

Responsible for providing practical and administrative support to the Mortuary Manager in the management and coordination of the forensic mortuary functions. This includes the supervision, training and allocation of staff to provide a timely and respectful service for the deceased, families and the wider community.

  • Hold a minimum Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant field to which the role applies.
  • Capacity to supervise a team, display training and development skills and motivate team productivity.
  • Ability to monitor and prioritise staff workflow effectively, ensuring objectives and performance targets are met within specified timeframes while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated competency in a variety of computer applications, with the ability to liaise with multidisciplinary teams and build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven ability to work with the deceased in an environment that could be distressing, ensuring to raise any associated concerns and/or need for support, adopting self-care strategies and promoting same for staff.
  • Capability to work shift work on a rotating roster and participate in an on-call roster, and travel in accordance with service demands of the role holding a current NSW driver’s licence.
  • Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSWHP RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence.
