JOB DESCRIPTION

MHS has an exciting opportunity for a qualified, passionate, team orientated individual to join our team as a Head Chef.

About the Role

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of MHS' catering service. You will lead an experienced team of Chef's, Cook's and Food Service Assistant's to deliver a variety of nutritious meals to Aged Care Residents, clients and patients within a cost effective, innovative model that aligns with MHS' Food Safety Plan.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will require the following qualifications, skills & attributes:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and/or 5 years experience in hospitality (preferably in the Healthcare industry)
  • Food Safety Supervisor certification
  • Previous food services supervisory/management experience
  • Menu planning experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to mentor team members

Moyne Health Services is a public, not for profit, integrated healthcare service that helps meet community healthcare needs in Port Fairy and surrounding districts in the Moyne Shire. Port Fairy is a picturesque coastal community in South West Victoria. Employing more than 190 people, MHS operates a 15 bed acute hospital, 2 Aged Care Residence' with a total of 82 beds, Accident & Emergency, primary and community care services, adult day centre and Allied Health Services.
