Blue Haven is a not-for-profit organisation fully owned and operated by Kiama Municipal Council and offers a true continuum of aged care services and disability services for people in the local region; including in-home support, community groups and programs, independent living and residential aged care.

The role:

As Care Service Nursing Team Leader you will be required to lead and support Care Service Employees to provide person-centred care to residents as documented in their care plan and in consultation with other health care professionals as appropriate. You will also provide care and social support to residents in accordance with accreditation standards.

To be successful in this role you will need:
  • To be a current employee of Kiama Municipal Council
  • Certificate IV in Ageing Support (previously known as Certificate IV in Aged Care)
  • First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain one in the first three months of employment)
  • Ability to assist the facility to meet documentations requirements as outlined by the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI).
  • Ability to provide leadership in a team environment
  • Ability to implement and utilise assessment tools and assess health care needs of residents
  • Ability to read and record information to maintain confidentiality, privacy and dignity
  • Working knowledge of infection control and guidelines.
About you:

You will have well developed communication skills with the ability to effectively provide leadership in a team environment. You will also have effective organisational and time management skills to work to strict deadlines.

We offer:
  • Permanent part time, 32 hours per week
  • Salary from $874.27 to $884.71 per week (depending on qualifications, skills and experience)
  • plus 9.5% superannuation
  • Ability to salary sacrifice up to $9,009 in pre-tax earnings plus $2,550 meal and entertainment card (for eligible employees)
  • Access to the Fitness Passport
