What You Will Be Doing

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Grade 1 social worker to join our Grade 1 Rotation Program. Social Workers at Peninsula Health are responsible for partnering with our clients and their families/carers to provide the appropriate support, counselling and to engage them and support their health and wellbeing.
We are looking for a social worker with a strong professional identity and who is team orientated and committed to work together to achieve clinical excellence and positive outcomes for our clients.
About Social Work

An opportunity exists for experienced Grade 1 Social Workers to join Peninsula Health. We are seeking social workers who are interested in being part of a flexible team who collaborate to provide a holistic approach to service delivery. These clinical roles will provide an opportunity to showcase your skills in working with people from a range of diverse backgrounds and across a variety of different health care settings.

Peninsula Health has recently introduced clinical rotations for Grade 1 Social Workers. The Social Work Grade 1 Rotations Program includes two six month rotation cycles per calendar year. Grade 1 Social workers will participate in rotations across inpatient settings at Frankston Hospital, Rosebud Hospital, The Mornington Centre and Golf Links Road. There will also be opportunity for three rotations to clinical areas outside of the inpatient setting in the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Team and the Advance Care Planning Team. The designated areas of clinical responsibility will be based around a preference option and in negotiation with the Social Work Lead (Grade 4) and relevant Team Leaders in Community Health.

This role will commence on 5th July 2021 until 23rd December 2022 (18 month fixed-term).
The first rotation is an exciting opportunity within the Alcohol and Other Drug program, which skills up Grade 1 Social Workers in the completion of the Victorian AOD Intake Tool, comprehensive AOD assessments and an extensive overview of the AOD Forensic Treatment System. This rotation also has a focus on the impacts of COVID-19 on people within our community.
What You Will Need:

We anticipate you will have:
• You will need to hold a Bachelor Degree or Qualifying Masters in Social Work. Post graduate studies are highly regarded and may be eligible for a higher education allowance
• As a multi-site organisation you may be required to work across sites. You will have access to our extensive pool of fleet cars and will need a Victorian Drivers licence.
