JOB DESCRIPTION

Provide contemporary evidence based consumer/person focused care, in collaboration with the interprofessional health care team to facilitate optimal health outcomes for the recipients of healthcare services and undertake delegated activities while assuming individual accountability for actions within the position and context of practice.

Two of our five hospitals – Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) and The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) – are tertiary/quaternary referral hospitals, providing state-wide super specialty services, such as heart and lung transplantation and burns treatment. About The Role

  • Apply clinical nursing expertise, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, to deliver a high standard of consumer/person centred care
  • Provide teaching to both consumers/persons and their families to facilitate learning and enable them to move towards independence.
  • Support an evidence-based learning environment and participate in learning activities/opportunities for self and others.
  • Integrate organisational policies and guidelines with professional standards by maintaining current knowledge and participating in relevant policy review.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous quality improvement and best practice principles to optimise consumer/person centred care and organisational outcomes.
  • Demonstrate clinical skills and problem-solving relevant to the care of consumer/person within the Ward2E.
  • Consult with others in delegation activities, and contribution to effective clinical care outcomes and the maintenance of a safe of environment.
  • Utilise communication processes and systems which enhance consumer/person care delivery and unit functioning.
