As part of its ongoing state-wide reform program, Statewide Mental Health Services is seeking interest for a Clinical Lead – Mental Health Reform, Consultation and Development.

Please note this position is also being advertised as a Nurse Manager - Mental Health Reform, Consultation and Development (525759) and only one position will be filled on merit.


$109,108 to $116,218 per annum

Please note that access to the progression point of Year 4Q salary of $116,218 is subject to successful completion of a relevant Master’s Degree as with Clause 10 of the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019

Fixed term, full-time, day worker, working 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible until June 2022.


Mental Health Services - South


The Clinical Lead - Mental Health Reform, Consultation and Development:

  • Provides expert clinical knowledge to support the development of the Operational Service Models (OSMs) and other program documentation required to progress the Statewide Mental Health Services (SMHS) Reform Program.
  • Provides leadership and coordination in the planning, development, and implementation of the Statewide Mental Health Service (SMHS) Reform Program.

  • Provides leadership in the development, implementation and review of systems and processes that support the key reform program deliverables, including developing clinical pathways and related policies and procedures for the effective implementation of the Reform Program.
  • Ensures key tasks and deliverables undertaken both individually and by the overall team reflect contemporary clinical best practise and sound clinical management principles.

  • Actively contribute to the overall success of the Reform Program by working collaboratively with a broad number of internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or
  • Degree in Social Work giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or
  • Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:

a) Crimes of Violence
b) Sex Related Offences
c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty

3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check

Desirable Requirements

  • Relevant post graduate study and/or qualifications.
