Medical Receptionist – Part Time

We are a newly growing accredited General Practice and seeking a friendly experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team and grow the business into the future. We pride ourselves on taking a personalised approach to patient care.

To help us achieve this, the ideal candidate must be able to work flexible hours (early morning, late finish) including weekends, be able to multi-task and enjoy working in a fast-paced GP super clinic.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous medical reception experience (minimum 1 year)
  • Holds current CPR certificate preferred
  • Medical reception qualifications desirable
  • High level of professionalism, attention to details and communication
  • Demonstrates a professionalism when handling issues, have exceptional problem-solving skills and ensure smooth operations of the day-to-day running of the practice
  • Experience with Best Practice software is desirable

Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Welcoming and assisting patients with enquiries and appointments
  • Answering incoming calls, managing a busy phone and responding to telephone and email enquiries in a courteous and professional manner
  • Email management and appropriate correspondence
  • Understanding of medical billing and processing Medicare/Private Health claims via EFTPOS (HICAPS), cash and direct debit transactions
  • Liaising with various medical staff, varying from Doctors, Nurses and Allied Health
  • Managing patient records and updating the database and ensuring absolute confidentiality and discretion in all clinic and patient matters
  • Positive caring attitude to team members and patients
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proactive problem solving
  • Maintain cleanliness of reception area and clinic rooms

Currently, on offer would be minimum of 15 hours per week with possibility of more hours in the future.
