JOB DESCRIPTION

Provide specialist cardiology services to patients presenting or referred to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, and to assist in education, research and administrative functions of the Cardiology Department and the hospital.

About The Role

  • Accountable for the clinical care of assigned Cardiology patients.
  • Cardiology outpatient and inpatient care and some afterhours home rostered Oncall, including general Cardiology and Electrophysiology services.
  • May include procedural inpatient sessions at other Metro North sites in addition to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.
  • Participation in the after hours Cardiology Oncall roster
  • Undertake research projects in cooperation and collaboration with other staff from any discipline at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and its affiliates.
  • Assist in educational activities for both undergraduate and postgraduate trainees, as appropriate for a teaching hospital of the University of Queensland. They are required to be responsible for the practice of the trainee registrars and junior medical staff, to assist in their professional development and to be appropriate role models.
