About this role

This is an exciting opportunity for Registered Nurses or Allied Health Professionals with suitable skills to work within and support the COVID-19 response in NSW as it relates to close contact tracing.

This role is to provide operational, project and clinical support to the NSW Health Central Contact Tracing Team.

Where you'll be working

You will be working within the Public Health Response Branch (PHRB) responding to the COVID 19 Pandemic. This role sits within the Central Contact Tracing Team.

The successful applicants will be based in St Leonards, in close proximity to public transport.
 

Working Time

The Contact Tracing Team operates 7 days a week over two shifts (8.30 am – 4:00 pm and 2.30 pm – 10:00 pm).

What you'll be doing

You will be required to:

  • Provide clinical supervision and advice in line with the NSW Health COVID-19 Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Guidelines and NSW Health resources
  • Perform contact tracing calls and manage escalated complex issues
  • Actively contribute to the management and culture of the central contact tracing team
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures
  • Liaise with other branches of the NSW Health COVID-19 response and Public Health Units
  • Ability to work weekends and evening shifts when required

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional
  • Advanced communication and problem-solving skills
  • Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel and Outlook experience
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to work in a large team
  • Public Health experience and /or qualifications (desirable, not essential)
  • Leadership and training experience (desirable, not essential)

Things to consider when expressing interest:

  • Your availability will need to be across 7 days per week, for 5 shifts (morning and afternoon)
  • Weekend and/or evening work will be required

  • 2 x referees will need to be supplied prior to an offer being made

Are you currently a NSW Government employee?

  • Current NSW Health, NSW Ministry of Health and NSW Government staff, must have their manager’s approval prior to expressing interest.
  • This will be an off-payroll arrangement for current Public Sector Staff at your current rate of remuneration, your agency can invoice NSW Health for salary expenses.
  • The team works on a shift work arrangement, you will be required to amend your working conditions to accommodate to shift working.

I am not a current NSW Government employee

  • Recommended candidates who have the required skills and experience to perform this role, will be engaged via a third-party recruitment partner, remunerated at an hourly rate and not directly employed with NSW Health
