JOB DESCRIPTION

The Position:
We are seeking suitable experienced Medical Registrars (non-accredited) to provide a high standard of medical care to the patients admitted to General Medicine/Medical Admissions Unit at the Hospital, working under the supervision of General Medical Physicians and within multidisciplinary team.

The General Medical team provides 24-hour inpatient care for acutely unwell patients over 16 years of age following stabilisation in the Emergency Department.

These include patients with a range of medical conditions such as emphysema, diabetes, asthma, pneumonia and other infections and patients with palliative care needs.

The inpatient medical team works closely with the hospital's Intensive Care Unit to ensure that patients receive the best possible care, in a timely manner.

Benefits:
Salary: MP Year 1-7 $131,299 -$ 175,977 p.a. (inclusive of base salary, 9.5% superannuation, and professional development allowance)

Essential Selection Criteria
1. Eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Australia.
2. Demonstrated clinical and procedural experience as a registered medical practitioner in an Australian
comparable hospital setting.
3. Demonstrated ability to make informed and timely decisions regarding assessment, diagnosis, follow up, health maintenance and promotion.
4. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact appropriately with patients, their families and staff of all levels.
5. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
6. Demonstrated ability to identify and respond to the health needs and expectations of individual patients, families and carers.
7. Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
8. Demonstrated awareness of safe clinical practice within own limitations and the environment in which
practicing.
9. Demonstrated interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
