Central Community - MWAMHS

A permanent full-time Team Leader position is available within our integrated community mental health team, includes monthly ADO, Monday to Friday

We are seeking an experienced clinician with leadership qualities who is committed to the provision of high quality mental health care to consumers, supporting family members, and coordinating service provision while promoting a healthy workplace.

NorthWestern Mental Health (NWMH) division provides a comprehensive, integrated range of services to people with a serious mental illness in North-Western Melbourne. A multi-disciplinary workforce of 1,800 staff provides services through four Area Adult Mental Health Services (North West, Mid West, Inner West and Northern), an Aged Persons’ Mental Health Program and a Youth Mental Health Service - ORYGEN Youth Health. NWMH is a clinical service of Melbourne Health and operates in partnership with Northern Health and Western Health.

Mid West Area Mental Health Service has six programs areas: Acute & Secure Extended Care inpatient; Residential; Emergency Mental Health; and 2 community mental health teams. Central is one of the community mental health teams and provides mental health services to people who reside in the City of Brimbank and part of Hume (Sunbury & Bulla). Supporting carers and family members is integral to our service provision.

Your New Team

Central Community is a multidisciplinary team comprising of Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Medical staff

An integrated model of care providing mental health treatment and clinical interventions: integrated functions include brief intervention; triage / intake; intensive clinical; and new patient assessments in addition to the case management of consumers requiring a longer term intervention

Clinicians are encouraged to develop skills in each of the integrated functions, staff training and development needs are prioritised

Sub-acute brief intervention is provided 7-days a week with a morning and evening shift, all other functions are rostered Monday - Friday only

Clinicians all have a case management component within their role, a minimum of 40% of their work days are rostered onto case management function days

Your Contribution

You are a motivated leader with mental health clinical experience committed to effective mental health service delivery within a public mental health setting

You prioritise the wellbeing of your colleagues and promote a healthy workplace

You have experience in the provision of clinical supervision, are able to provide line management and promote the active participation of clinicians in regular workload management discussions (CWMS)

You will chair clinical review meetings, working in collaboration with consultant psychiatrist and program manager

You will be responsive to the needs of consumers, family members and staff

You communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form

You have the relevant registration with AHPRA for nursing, occupational therapy or clinical psychology. Social workers are eligible for membership with the AASW
