About the Cardiology Department

The state of the art facility is a ‘one stop shop’ providing direct access to our world renowned cardiologists for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases focusing on the individual needs of the patient. As a provider of cardiac investigation and imaging, the Heart Centre relies heavily on its IT infrastructure for all aspects of patient diagnosis and treatment.

The facility cements St Vincent’s leading role in tackling heart disease. Treating over 10,000 patients per year, the service will significantly improve access for Victorian patients to specialised cardiac services.

About the Role

The Interventional fellow must participate in clinical research, including data collection and analysis, abstract preparation and reporting of data at meetings.
The Interventional fellow will participate in the teaching of cardiology advanced trainees, junior medical officers and allied health personnel. The Interventional fellow will also participate in the after-hours cardiology roster for echocardiography, pacemaker insertion and emergency infarct angioplasty.
Supervision of the provisional fellow is coordinated by the Director of Interventional Cardiology and on a day to day basis by the Interventional Cardiologists and the Head of the Department of Cardiology.

Hours: 1 EFT (43hrs)

Duration of appointment: Feb 2022 – Feb 2023

Classification Range: HM25 – HM30 ($119,542 - $164,538)
