JOB DESCRIPTION

The Position:
We are seeking suitable experienced ICU Registrars (unaccredited) to provide a high standard of medical care to the patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Hospital, working under the direct supervision of Consultant's.

Intensive Care Unit
This is a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) that is equipped with the latest healthcare technology to provide critical care to more than 500 patients every year.

The team of specialist medical, nursing and allied health professionals enables local post-operative and critically ill patients not requiring tertiary level care to be cared for closer to home.

Specialty areas include:
· managing acute medical, surgical and obstetric admissions
· peri-operative support for elective surgery
· integration with the wards to provide support to patients to reduce admissions to ICU
· follow up service after discharge from ICU to prevent readmission.
· They also provide an outreach multidisciplinary service (unique in WA) to the hospital's general wards to identify patients at risk of deterioration.

Benefits:
Salary: MP Year 1-7 $131,299 -$ 175,977 p.a. (inclusive of base salary, 9.5% superannuation, and professional development allowance)

Essential Selection Criteria
1. Eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Australia.
2. Demonstrated clinical and procedural experience sufficient to undertake the safe care of
patients in ICU.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of the Australian healthcare system.
4. Minimum six months demonstrated critical care experience (ED/ICU/Anaesthesia)
5. Demonstrated evidence of completion or enrolment into ALS or equivalent.
6. Demonstrated effective communication/interpersonal skills.
7. Demonstrated conflict resolution skills.
8. Demonstrated experience and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
