The Opportunity

As a Health and Strategy Analyst within Medibank, you will work in the Healthcare and Strategy division to deliver analytical insights and recommendations to enable timely and informed decision-making. You will have the opportunity to work on industry-leading projects to help improve healthcare services, programs and outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing positive relationships with team and stakeholders by showing awareness of individual needs and perspectives
  • Critical thinking to develop hypotheses that will enable data-driven decision making and problem solving
  • Developing appropriate models using tools (SAS, SQL, R, Python, Excel) to test business hypothesis and assess impacts
  • Summarising and presenting data outputs and complex ideas in a coherent story including meaningful data visualisations
  • Contributing to advanced analytics projects using machine learning and/or forecasting

About You

Your ability to build constructive relationships with stakeholders and your strength in critical thinking will help deliver actionable insights to the business. As an achiever with a growth mindset, you have an interest in emerging analytical methods to help improve current processes and help solve problems. You will be working in a talented and diverse team that provides opportunities for growth and development.

You will have working experience in analytics, economics, insights or another quantitative field within a corporate environment. You thrive from solving problems, leveraging your strong critical thinking ability and creativity. You have a passion for data and analytics and have a keen interesting in applying your skills in the healthcare sector.

Other requirements include:

  • Tertiary qualification in analytics, statistics, economics or a related discipline;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Intermediate ability in SAS, SQL, R or Python, as well as Excel.
  • Tableau or other data visualisation and storytelling experience would be advantageous; and
  • Previous experience working in the health, insurance, or consulting sectors would be desirable
