Hours/Period of Appointment:

Permanent, Day Worker working 76 hours per fortnight to commence from 21 JUNE 2021. Notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.


Provide Pathology Services of the highest possible standard to patients.

The LGH has 300+ beds and is Tasmania’s second largest public hospital. It is the major referral centre for Northern Tasmania, providing acute care, outpatient, community, emergency, intensive care, maternity, specialty medical and surgical services. It is an accredited teaching hospital with a close association to the University of Tasmania.

The Northern Tasmanian Pathology Service employs a team of 11 pathologists with 3 registrars. The AP team comprises 3-4 specialists and 2 registrars working in a modern, well-resourced, NATA accredited laboratory supported by a staff of well trained and experienced medical scientists.

The Anatomical Pathology service covers most specialities with the exception of neurosurgery, cardiothoracic and gynaeoncology which are referred to the Royal Hobart Hospital.

  • Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty.
