The role:

  • Assist with the daily functioning of Allied Health Professional (AHP) services within the inpatient surgical services.
  • Undertake tasks under direction of AHP’s.

The team:

This Allied Health Assistant (AHA) role supports the Physiotherapy team working across multiple surgical wards at the LGH. Our local Physiotherapy team values are – Belong, Enjoy, Excel; we look for team members who will fit our strong team culture and who have great communication skills. Candidates with experience in acute care work as an AHA are encouraged to apply.

Details of Appointment

Permanent full-time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight from October 2021

Salary: $58,323 - $61,704 per annum + 9.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019
  • Applicants should note that, for a period of six months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants may meet the desirable criteria:

  • Certificate IV in Health Service Assistance (Allied Health Assistance) or equivalent qualification
  • Tertiary student of a relevant and approved allied health course of study at a recognised tertiary institution.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  • Conviction checks in the following areas:
  • Crimes of violence
  • sex related offences
  • serious drug offences
  • crimes involving dishonesty
  • Identification check
  • Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
