Hospital Support Officer

Multiple Part Time Positions - Shifts available 7 days a week
Fixed Term Roles - 12 months with immediate starts available

The Royal Women’s Hospital is Australia’s first and largest specialist hospital dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of newborns and women of all ages. Creating exceptional experiences is at the heart of everything we do for our patients, their families, and our people across our specialised services within maternity, neonatal and women’s health.

In a newly created team, you will be the first point of contact for patients, their families and other visitors at the Women's as they work through our Covid screening procedures that help to keep our people and our community safe. Exemplifying our warm and friendly patient centred service, you will help people understand the current rules around entering the Women's, using the technologies in place to register their arrival and work with other areas of the hospital to assist them to get further information and support where needed.

In this role you will use your previous customer service experience and strong people centred approach to:

Ask the prepared screening questions and document the information if a member of the public needs assistance
Support the administration of screening processes, updating information and maintaining supplies of materials for the team
Encourage the use of hand hygiene and provide a single use mask and guidance on how to wear it correctly
Help patients and visitors with general information and directing people to the Information Desk and Volunteer Guides for more substantial help
Issue each visitor with a visitor label, to be work while attending the facility and advise them of the appropriate restrictions in place
Work caringly with distressed and anxious visitors
