We are currently inviting applications for a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist position at the Mater Hospital, Sydney. This role will report to the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services and will be responsible for concurrent reviews of medical records during a patients admissions to ensure clinical documentation reflects with accuracy the complexity of care given. The successful applicant will be involved in Health Fund audits, review and analysis of readmissions within 28 days and Hospital Acquired complications. You will use your extensive clinical knowledge to actively query, engage and support Visiting Medical Staff and other clinicians to obtain accurate clinical documentation.

About You

The successful candidate must have:

  • Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA Registration

  • 5 years plus Acute Experience

  • Working knowledge of /or ability to acquire knowledge of clinical coding requirements

  • Ablility to commence 30th November 2020 to attend 3M DRG Assurance training

  • Strong computer literacy and exceptional verbal and written skills
