Curis Recruitment is proud to partner with this fantastic Aboriginal Health Service based regional New South Wales to help them find a Registered Nurse or Midwife to join their Australian Nurse-Family Partnership Program team.

There are currently two positions available one based in regional NSW and the other based within Sydney, choose which best suits you and your lifestyle!

Job Details:

  • Permanent full time position, 38 hours per week
  • Case load of up to 25 clients
  • One role is Sydney based and one is regional NSW

This fantastic aboriginal health services is looking for a Registered Nurse or Midwife to join their Australian Nurse-Family Partnership Program (ANFPP). The ANFPP is a national primary health care program, working with first time Mum's having an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander baby from pregnancy until the child's second birthday.

As the Nurse Home Visitor (RN and/or RM) you will work closely with the Aboriginal Family Partnership Worker to form long term therapeutic relationships with women and their families, with the aim of improving health through pregnancy and beyond; supporting clients to be the best parents they can be; and working with the client to develop a vision for the future.

Core and additional training and support are provided at a site and national level.

Some of the key duties of your position include: 

  • Develop therapeutic relationships with women and their families in a home visiting environment
  • Arrange and perform consent and risk management activities in collaboration with other team members
  • Assess physical, emotional, social and environmental needs of women and their families as they relate to the ANFPP domains
  • Assist women and their families in establishing goals and outcomes, providing education, support and referral resources to attain these in collaboration with the Aboriginal Family Partnership Worker before, during, and after home visits

You will be working for an aboriginal corporation health service who aim to empower targeted Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to take control of their individual, family and community health and well being needs through the community-controlled model. 

The Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service offers Primary Health
Care Services and an Integrated Care program, as well as a number of specialist clinical staff and AHW’s, a Specialist Programs Unit incorporating Social & Emotional Wellbeing, Child & Family Support, Drug & Alcohol, Aboriginal Family Health, Aboriginal Local Support, a Healthy for Life (H4L) Program, Maternal & Child Health Worker, Aboriginal Health Workers, Youth Health Worker and Dietitian targeting Maternal & Child Health and Chronic Diseases, regional programs including Australian Nurse-Family Partnership Program, Aboriginal Children’s Therapy Team.

The Location
You will be living in a fantastic regional area of New South Wales. Based 410 km from Sydney as well as having their own airport makes it easy to get to any of the main cities in Australia. The area has a population of approximately 37,843 people. 

If regional NSW is not for you and you love the fast pace of the city then we also have a role based right in the heart of Sydney! 

To be eligible for this position you must:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with AHPRA
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues that impact on Aboriginal people and Aboriginal communities
  • Ability to work autonomously, and within a team, demonstrating efficient time management skills
  • Must have a current drivers licence with no restrictions
  • Current working with children's check and police check
