We have an exciting career progression opportunity for a Registered Nurse/Endorsed Enrolled Nurse or an experienced Sterilising Technician to take the next step into a Supervisor – Central Sterilising Department role. As the supervisor you will contribute to the effectiveness of sterilisation services and will be responsible for coordinating and collaborating the overall cleaning, decontamination, assembly and dispensing of surgical instruments, equipment and supplies.

This role provides support to our clinical team within our five (5) theatre complex which undertakes a wide range of surgeries including: Orthopedics, ENT, General, Plastic and Cosmetic, Gynaecology, Opthalmology, Urology and Vascular Surgery.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Current AHPRA Registration as either Registered Nurse or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse with extensive knowledge of sterilising services and/or
  • Minimum four years’ experience in Sterilising role with Certificate IV Sterilisation Services (mandatory) or working towards the completion of the certificate
  • Working knowledge of Sterilisation and Infection Control standards with experience in the operation and monitoring of specialised equipment (e.g. Autoclaves, sterilisers)
  • Sound knowledge of surgical instruments, instrument care and their packing techniques
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and provide leadership to the Sterilising Services team.
  • Working knowledge and experience with the implementation of new practices to comply with new and existing regulations regarding the processing of reusable medical devices.
