  • Full time or part time positions available for Registered Nurses within Macquarie University Hospital, as part of MQ Health.
  • Competitive base salary ranging as per the Enterprise Agreement ranging from $65,050 - $91,350 per annum for Registered Nurses (rates are pro rata for part time).

  • Orthopaedic surgery at Macquarie University Hospital is one of our signature specialities which has seen significant growth in the last 12 months and are looking for part-time or full-time Registered Nurses. You will be working alongside experts who are dedicated to not only perfecting their clinical and orthopaedics skills, but also educating future orthopaedic health care professionals.
As well as valuing education, this academic institution undertakes leading breakthrough research in the area of Orthopaedic Surgery. With sub-speciality interests in shoulder, hand, foot and ankle, orthopaedic spine, lower and upper limb procedures, you will be exposed to the gamut of complex Orthopaedic surgery.

The Orthopaedic team at Macquarie University Hospital also specialises in Osseo integration, limb lengthening, limb deformity, limb deficiency and weakness, complex joint replacement, revision arthroplasty, bone and joint infection and complex foot and ankle

You will be part of the multi-disciplinary team consisting of orthopaedic surgeons, pain specialists, rehabilitation physicians, prosthetists, physiotherapists, plastic surgeons and infectious disease consultants who provide opportunities for individuals who previously had no treatment alternatives.

Holding regular multidisciplinary meetings where teams discuss cases and consider possible alternatives, our staff are encouraged to participate making informed decision for patients in a collaborative way.

To Apply

To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate the below requirements in your CV and a 1-2 page cover letter:
  • Valid registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Sound theatre knowledge with a minimum 1 year experience as a theatre scrub/scout nurse in an orthopaedic discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and use initiative
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to establish sound relationships with peers and clients using a customer service focus
  • Proven ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to own professional development
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality customer service
  • Proven ability to establish sound relationships with peers and clients using a customer service focus
  • Well-developed computer skills including the use of electronic medical records systems, MQ Word, Excel and web-based research.

  • Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
