Provisional Fellow positions in Paediatric Intensive Care are available for the 2022 Clinical Year, for up to 12 months, from 07 February 2022 to 05 February 2023. There are positions available at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead (CHW) and Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick (SCH). Positions are accredited for advanced training and would be suitable for a candidate interested in a career in general or subspecialty training. Please ensure you complete your application prior to the closing date. Some positions are dependent on external funding and will only be appointed once funding is confirmed. Interviews will be conducted virtually via videoconference. Selection Criteria:
  • MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
  • Registered with the RACP, CICM, ANZCA or equivalent. Preference will be given to trainees working towards a career in intensive care.
  • A minimum of 12 months intensive care experience, preference may be given to candidates with 18 months or more experience in Paediatric Intensive Care, experience in Paediatric Cardiac Intensive Care or ECMO.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals.
  • Ongoing commitment to further education and professional development and demonstrated ability to teach, with a willingness to participate in the teaching of Medical Students, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff.
  • Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake research proposal.
  • Demonstrated competency in paediatric life support with qualifications in APLS (instructor preferable) or equivalent. Please provide details.
