An exciting opportunity exists to join the Mental Health Drug and Alcohol (MHDA) Casual Pool and become a valued member of the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) casual pool. NSLHD has a person centred care approach within a practice development framework. The MHDA casual pool offers flexibility of shifts and locations, if you have had a minimum twelve months nursing experience please apply now

 We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and dedicated Enrolled Nurses to join our casual pool. There will be opportunity to work across all units and gain a variety of specialised mental health experience.

What you'll be doing

The Enrolled Nurse (EN) within Mental Health Drug and Alcohol (MDHA) Services demonstrates competence in the provision of patient-centred care across a range of both acute and non-acute care settings providing support to both the nursing and multidisciplinary team. The EN works under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrate these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Annual Registration – Enrolled Nurse Division 2.
  3. Nursing knowledge and skills relevant to mental health.
  4. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  5. Understanding of team nursing and demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of the multi-disciplinary mental health team
  6. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and organise own workload.
  7. Commitment to quality improvement, practice development and evidence-based practice.
  8. A commitment to excellence in mental health nursing practice and continuing professional development.
