About The Opportunity 
Campbelltown Hospital is recruiting for a Midwifery Unit Manager to complement and enhance the current Antenatal Ward.

An exciting opportunity exists in the role as the Antenatal Midwifery Unit Manager at Campbelltown Hospital. This role strives to provide excellent care in a Collaborative model of care that provides strong development opportunities in an increasingly growing community. The MUM has the opportunity to lead an innovative team in exciting quality improvement activities as well as being a strong advocate for innovative midwifery models and continuity of care in pregnancy.

What you'll be doing

The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) is in-charge of all aspects of the unit environment and takes overall responsibility for the standard of patient care in the unit. The NUM is pivotal to the coordination of patient care, unit management and leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.

How to Apply

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.
 

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
  2. Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
  3. Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive.
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise.
  6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the management of the unit and the delivery of evidenced based nursing care.
  7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
  8. Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
