Clinical Information Clerk
The Maitland Hospital

The Maitland Hospital is a one of four rural referral hospitals in the Hunter New England Health region. The hospital covers comprehensive services including medical, rehabilitation, surgical, mental health, dental, renal, maternity and child services, a Level 4 ICU and a 24-hour emergency department across the 168 bed facility. The Maitland Hospital has gone digital and will be moving to the New Maitland Hospital in 2022. Their Clinical Information Department have an excellent opportunity for motivated, skilled individuals to join their team on a permanent basis!

About the opportunity:
This role will see you preparing discharged medical records for scanning, retrieving medical records from wards and clinic, scanning, quality checking, preparing and scanning Emergency Department notes, release of information and culling of scanned notes. Upon commencement you will receive an orientation to the site and will be taught each task one on one.

About you:
The successful candidates will be personable, resilient professionals who have recent clerical or administrative experience in a medical environment with previous scanning experience being highly regarded. You will have excellent attention to detail, the ability to organise and prioritise your workload and the capacity to work efficiently under pressure and in a team environment or independently. You will have knowledge of the NSW Health Privacy Act, the ability to file and retrieve medical records and availability to work shifts any time from 7am until 11pm 7 days per week.
