We are seeking a Staff Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology for a permanent position in northern NSW. Trainee's who will attain Fellowship within the Clinical Year will also be considered.


You will be providing comprehensive specialist services for optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care as well as providing support and training to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice, undertaking the supervision and education within the clinical environment of junior medical staff and other relevant staff to foster safe clinical practice. The position is 50% clinics and 50% consultant work including 1 theatre list per month.

Eligible for full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with Fellowship of the relevant college, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the role delineation of the service. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.

Hospital and Location

The Hospital is a level 3⁄4 Hospital providing acute medical, surgical, orthopaedic, paediatric, anaesthetic, geriatric, maternity and obstetric, high dependency and acute care, renal, oncology, palliative care, emergency, some specialist outpatient services and day surgery. There is also a large range of Community Health services, including; Aboriginal health, Mental health, Rehabilitation and Extended Care [non hospital], Drug and Alcohol, Sexual health, Children's and Women's health.

One of Australia's most beautiful provincial cities, with a population of over 19000, this location is famous for its trees, graceful old buildings, classic country pubs and mighty river.
