Clinical Educator - Transition to Practice Programs (Nursing)



  • Temporary Part time (until June 2022)

  • Eastern Health (based at 5 Arnold St, Box Hill)

  • Support the marketing, recruitment and orientation of new graduates

  • Lead the study day and rotational programs

  • Support the performance and well being of graduates in their transition year.

About the role


The Clinical Educator Transition to Practice Programs will support the EH Transition Programs in Nursing (220 graduates) Midwifery (20 graduates) and in Allied Health (approximately 30 graduates).


The role will encompass supporting the marketing, recruitment, onboarding and welcome of new novice learners to the organisation. Furthermore the role will support the learners transition through the provision of study days, professional development opportunities, mentoring and support of health and wellbeing. The role will work closely with the Learning and Teaching Educators to suport individual graduate needs as well as meeting organisational requirements.


The role will report directly to the Associate Director Transition to Practice Programs and the Clinical Educators will directly manage a small team of Clinical Support Nurses across multiple sites.


There is 1.0 EFT available.



About you 


To be successful in this role you should possess:



  • Current profession specific registration with AHPRA or professional body

  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience

  • Experience working with novice learners

  • Experience working in Learning and Teaching

  • Experience with recruitment

  • A strong commitment to high quality care

  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Expertise in Microsoft suite of programs
