Northwestern Mental Health & Orygen

NorthWestern Mental Health (NWMH) provides a comprehensive and integrated range of services to people living in northwestern Melbourne. Our multidisciplinary workforce comprises of clinicians, consumers and carers, and provides a recovery-oriented apporoach to care. We are dedicated to providing caring and high quality specialist, community and hospital-based mental healthcare for young people, adults and aged people experiencing, or at risk of developing a serious mental illness.

Orygen provides specialist mental health services for young people aged 15 - 24 years, focusing on the provision of early intervention. Our teams provide tailored services comprising assessment and crisis intervention, case management, medication, psychotherapy, family support, inpatient care, group work, vocational support, educational support, and intensive outreach. We are constantly evolving and innovating, with newly developed programs in the areas of forensic youth mental health, refugee mental health, Orygen@Home (hospital in the home), and emergent YPARC and HOPE programs.

Your new team

We are a passionate team, working to build and maintain partnerships that promote young people’s mental health

We collaborate in a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary context, to support identification of young people’s mental health problems, and helpful responses to these problems

We work together, and with others, to reduce barriers to mental healthcare for young people in our community

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

Collaborate with other professionals, and develop interagency relationships

Identify health promotion strategies that might improve outcomes for young people

Consult with others regarding young people’s mental health needs

Develop, deliver and evaluate professional learning and training

Communicate within and between organisations

Your Contribution

You are mental health professional, with qualifications in nursing, occupational therapy, psychology or social work

You have a minimum of five years clinical experience - ideally with young people and families

You are a skilled communicator, with a range of audiences

You are a systems-thinker
