Exciting career opportunity to work as an Assistant in Midwifery as part of our dynamic Midwifery team at Northern Beaches Hospital.

As An Assistant In Midwifery Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Work in partnership with women, VMO’s and other maternity care providers to ensure collaborative centred maternity care
  • Provide direct midwifery care to women and their families within the AIM scope of practice and level of experience
  • Will ensure women are supported through all phases of pregnancy, labour and birth and the postnatal period
  • Assessing patients using therapeutic skills
  • Answering patient/visitor/customer enquiries

To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and attributes:
  • Successful completion of Year 1 and Semester 1 Year 2 of Bachelor of Midwifery
  • Current enrolment and ongoing progress in the Bachelor of Midwifery course with a satisfactory academic record maintained.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent ability to plan and prioritise work
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexibility to manage shift work (including, day & night shifts) over 7 days
