Buderim Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Perioperative Registered or Clinical Nurse to join their education team in a permanent, full-time Clinical Nurse Educator position.

About the Role:

We're currently seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to join our supportive, passionate and collaborative Education Team to deliver education across our Perioperative Services.

This position will work collaboratively with the perioperative services management team and be responsible for meeting the educational requirements of the department in line with ACORN and national healthcare standards.

Reporting to the Education Manager, you will take on a leadership role in providing hands on educational support and coaching to graduate nurses and students, while integrating theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new employees and experienced staff.

Responsible for delivering education and training to our perioperative team you will also:

  • Collaborate closely with the Perioperative Clinical Nurse Managers to respond to emerging clinical needs and incidents and determine further educational requirements
  • Coordinate the allocation of education resources and individuals
  • Have a focus on providing hands on training across the perioperative department but particularly in the scrub/scout environment to strengthen safety, process and clinical care
  • Be responsible for the development, delivery, assessment and evaluation of programs and educational activities that promote and reflect best practice standards

About You:

We’re seeking experienced scrub/scout Registered Nurses with a passion for clinical teaching and education. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Minimum 5 year’s clinical experience including recent clinical experience as a Scrub/Scout Nurse
  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree or equivalent and current AHPRA Registration
  • Thorough knowledge of ACORN and ANZCA standards and current legislation
  • Current or previous experience working in or delivering education
  • Have or be working towards a Post Graduate Qualification and Cert IV Workplace Training and Assessment
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Ability to work both autonomously and effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
