Occupational Therapy Team

Permanent -Part Time, 31 hours per fortnight

Grade 3 – Senior Clinician


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Occupational Therapy Department at West Gippsland Healthcare Group in the role of a Grade 3 Occupational Therapist.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to work with our team in this Senior Occupational Therapy role.

Reporting to the Occupational Therapy Manager, you will work within a motivated, dedicated and supportive team to provide clinical leadership, supervision, support and professional development to staff and students within the acute and subacute areas, and contribute to the on-going development of the hospital’s Occupational Therapy and Allied Health services. The Senior Clinician will also be responsible for providing clinical services to acute areas and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Initiating, leading and undertaking quality activities and portfolios are key components of the role and assuming management duties as required by the Occupational Therapy Manager.

Our Preferred Candidate Will Have

  • Degree / Masters in Occupational Therapy
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Occupational Therapy Board.
  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge, skills and at least 7 years’ experience in the provision of occupational therapy clinical services
  • High level of interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills
  • A strong commitment to high quality, evidence based care
  • Experience in supervising staff and students
  • Commitment to continuing professional education and quality improvement
  • Current Victorian Driver Licence
The Following Experience/qualifications Would Be Considered Advantageous
  • Member of the Australian Occupational Therapy Association or equivalent and relevant Special Interest Group(s)
  • Clinical experience in the areas of acute / subacute care
  • Participation in research / quality improvement activities
  • Evidence of leadership skills
