Deliver advanced clinical sleep scientific services involving complex caseloads, within the Sleep Disorders Centre and linked services within Metro North Hospital and Health Services, in accordance with contemporary clinical practice standards.

About The Role

  • Independent application of advanced specialist clinical expertise, decision making and complex problem solving in the provision of scientific and clinical services as part of a multidisciplinary team, facilitating novel solutions when required, including in the management of patients with complex ventilatory requirements.
  • Provide high level clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary team and be recognised as a reference point for other clinicians at a service level.
  • In collaboration with the Clinical Educator, accountable for the co-ordination of patient, staff and student education activities and resources. Deliver and evaluate specialised education and training programs at a service and facility level and at partner or outreach facilities and services.
  • Provide high level clinical advice within areas of expertise to professional and operation teams, relevant service managers and other stakeholders in relation to the development of clinical services and professional standards within the service and at other facilities.
  • Operationally manage the HP3 scientific team and polysomnographic nurses including workforce recruitment and planning, rostering, workload allocation and leave management within delegations.
