Tamworth and Gunnedah are within reach of the Tamworth Regional Airport, which is 10km from Tamworth€™s town centre. Gunnedah is a 45 minute drive from Tamworth. A number of local and private schools fall within these districts.

These much sought after locations are connected by picturesque countryside and home to extraordinary flora and fauna. Camp, bush walk, bird watch and take in the natural wonders that these beautiful regions have to offer. Immerse yourself in the celebration of music with regular local events and the annual Tamworth country music festival which runs over 10 days each January.

Our successful dentists will engage in a range of clinical work of variable complexity and scope, depending on interest and skill set. All aspects of general dentistry are being offered to our patients in suitable cases. You will have the chance to provide outreach services to communities of some of our more remote clinics.

In addition, you will explore and develop clinical skills in, but not limited to, treatment under general anaesthesia, special need dentistry, geriatric dentistry (including nursing home visits), and treatment of patients with complex medical history.

You will be supported by a large organisation of skilled dental professionals and support staff with a strong, values based culture and a commitment to excellence in patient care. This includes dental therapists, oral health therapists, senior dentists, dental prosthetists and other visiting specialists in the LHD (paediatric dentists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, orthodontist, periodontist).

We have an in-house dental practitioner development program, regular workshops, and specialty clinic rotations to enhance your skill as a general practitioner in a regional/rural location. There is the opportunity to engage in other non-clinical based activities in areas such as management, research, clinical governance, and mentorship for junior staff and students, to compliment and enrich your day-to-day clinical work.

In addition to a base salary, your package will include 9.5% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading paid on your 4 weeks of annual leave. You will also be eligible for the Rural Incentive Allowance of $20,000 pa and the Dental Officer Management Allowance Level 1 of $6,974.00 pa (Gunnedah only).

To be eligible for employment in these roles you must be: an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or a citizen of another country with an appropriate visa that allows you to work in Australia.

If you currently hold a temporary visa that allows you to live and work in Australia you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.

An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.
