About The Role

  • Provision of evidence-based, high quality, culturally appropriate clinical care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within a Community based Medical practice including:
    • Undertake Patient Interview, Clinical examination & Identification of clinical problems and health opportunities, including the development of patient plans for overall clinical care and health promotion.
    • Maintenance of Clinical practice standards related to evidence-based practice.
    • Maintenance of concise but comprehensive, accurate, legible records of patient status and progress and associated correspondence.
  • Participate in clinical governance activities by organising peer review audits, monitoring care outcomes and reporting promptly to the Clinical Director any significant adverse events or near miss situations.
  • Organisation or active participation in the education and teaching of medical students, junior medical officers, principal house officer and registrars by providing training and supervision. Organise, participate and facilitate research and include junior and senior medical officers.
  • Foster clinical, academic and research relationships within the Hospital and Health Service and broader academic community.
  • Compliance with hospital procedures and work instructions, especially with regard to clinical practice and management of patient medical records and the economics use of human and material resources.
  • Participation in peer review as required.
  • To participate in other duties as requested by the Director.
