Position Summary

About The Role

Join our progressive team at Mercy Hospital for Women – a specialist tertiary teaching hospital. We currently have a variety of positions available and would love to hear from you! We will offer you:

  • Exposure to a wide variety of clinical scenarios
  • Option for Full Time or Part Time, flexibility with rostering
  • Permanent and fixed term positions available
  • Extensive ongoing educational opportunities including free workshops and seminars (e.g. RANZCOG, PROMPT, neoResus)
  • Opportunities to work across the scope of Midwifery practice
  • Opportunities to work in specialist areas such as Antenatal / Postnatal wards , Birth Suite, Fetal Monitoring, Emergency Department, Domiciliary Care, Special Care Nursery and Gynae Ward
  • Salary is in line with the Enterprise Agreement and will be based on your years of experience (hourly base rate between $34.03 and $45.50)

About You

You will have excellent clinical skills, good time management and organisational skills and have;
  • Registration as a Midwife with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Minimum of Level 2 RANZCOG or working towards
  • Demonstrated credentialing for other clinical skills including IV cannulation and newborn discharge examinations
  • A commitment to women centred care
  • You will have the ability to communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical team, and a diverse patient population.

Mercy Hospital for Women is a fully accredited Level 6 Public Specialist Teaching Hospital providing both public and private patient care through maternity services, neonatology and paediatrics, perioperative services, gynaecology, women's health and associated health, support and diagnostic services. We are a major teaching hospital and specialist referral centre with the medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health expertise to treat the most complex obstetric, neonatal and gynaecological cases.
