High level Clinical Neuropsychological assessment of referred patients with suspected brain injury or impairment within inpatient and outpatient settings to assist with diagnosis, rehabilitation, and clinical decision-making.

About The Role

  • Independently apply high-level knowledge of evidence-based Clinical Neuropsychology principles and professional judgment to problems of significant scope within a complex and heavy caseload comprising patients with diverse medical and neurological presentations.
  • Use advanced and innovative problem-solving skills to make critical decisions regarding the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of Clinical Neuropsychology assessment and rehabilitation programs across multiple speciality areas with minimal direct clinical practice supervision.
  • Provide consultation and liaison in clinical neuropsychology to members of a multidisciplinary team in the care of in the care of inpatients and outpatients of the service.
  • Engage in the development and provision of specialist quality enhancement activities and professional standards within the discipline of Clinical Neuropsychology.
  • Provide supervision to postgraduate students on placement and to less experienced staff members.
  • Initiate and contribute to research projects of clinical importance to Queensland Health, with outcomes influencing standards of clinical practice in relation to contemporary Clinical Neuropsychology assessment and rehabilitation of a broad range of neurological disorders.
