Your new team

Recently Mental Health Reform Victoria has funded RMH/NWMH to commence a major workforce initiative with a workforce growth relating to Entry to Practice/Graduate positions from 82 in 2020 to 160 projected in 2021. As a result the RMH/NWMH Workforce and Development Unit will expand accordingly requiring more resources for day to day unit operations.

This is a Part Time (0.5 EFT), Fixed Term position, working 40 hours per fortnight, based at RMH Royal Parl campus.

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

  • We are looking for Senior Psychiatric Nurse who can help shape the RMH/NWMH Workforce and Development Unit to

  • Deliver to Entry to Practice/Graduates the most relevant mental health nursing knowledge and skill set that will equip them to provide high standards of care for our consumers.

Further goals include instilling the desire and expectation for new learning in the years to come that will culminate in the Specialist Mental Health Nursing Qualification.

Your Contribution

  • Develop a new workplace culture that encourages and supports our Nursing Leaders to be partners in workforce redesign with the placement of Entry to Practice Workforce.

  • Equipped with communication, change management, negotiating skills necessary to succeed in leadership and partnership roles.

  • Able to coordinate the collective nursing and workforce development activities.

  • Skills to provide senior psychiatric nursing leadership and day to day management to the Workforce and Development unit.
