An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Child Inpatient team.

The role of the Senior OT will be to provide high quality, evidence-based occupational therapy assessment (formal standardised and informal), treatment and consultation contributing to the understanding of the child’s strengths and difficulties from an occupational performance perspective.

Working within a multidisciplinary team the Senior OT is an integral part of the team collaborating on groups, formulations, discharge planning, capacity building, program planning, quality improvement and service development. The Senior OT will provide discipline specific clinical expertise that contributes to excellent clinical outcomes for children and their families in addition to the adding to the teams capacity to provide comprehensive formualtion and diagnosis.The role is also expected to contribute to broader OT discipline across CYMHS by participating in under and post-graduate training, secondary consultation and/or discipline specific education to other CYMHS clinicans and/or external forums as relevant.

To be successful in this role you must meet minimum years of clinical experience for a senior mental health role, have advanced experience and demonstrated expertise in working with complex child and youth mental health presentations requiring of OT assessment and treatment, be able to demonstrate a rich understanding of OT professional frameworks, theories and practices as they relate to children and mental health child development and of play as the occupational or life role of infants and children and have a knowledge of and comitment to recovery and collaborative evidence based clinical practice.
