Monash Newborn Casey, located at Casey Hospital in Berwick, is a 20 bed special care nursery, with a reputation for delivering outstanding family centred care to neonates.

About Post Graduate Coursework

La Trobe University offers the Master of Nursing (Neonatal Care, Neonatal Special Care) and is a 1.5-year full-time or 2–3 year part-time course with exit options available at either the graduate certificate or the postgraduate diploma. The course is designed to provide a range of opportunities for students to develop a deeper understanding of neonatal intensive care or special care nursing through systematic analysis and reflection on the relationships between theory and practice.

About You

You are passionate or derisre to learn about Neonatal Nursing, in particular Special Care Nursery and you are able to demonstrate the following:

  • Registered Nurse experience in an acute Setting, ideally SCN

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and superior time management skills

  • Evidence of a commitment to professional development and care of the critically ill child.

  • Thrive using your proven critical thinking & problem solving skills

What you need

  • You are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Authority (AHRPA)

  • You can demonstrate 12 months recent acute nursing experience within Australia;

  • You are willing to work full or part time across a seven day rotating roster including night shifts during your studies
