Locum/Rotational Pharmacist

  • Part time contract opportunity - work 3 days per week
  • Maximum term until May 2022
  • Join our leading Locum pharmacist team in South Australia
About The Role

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed Pharmacist who enjoys variety in their work to join our Locum team in South Australia

As a Locum Pharmacist you will be required to provide relief and cover to all Pharmacists across our South Australian sites; including dispensary, clinical, oncology and compounding. Prior experience in compounding and aseptic manufacturing is highly preferable.

This part time role, available on a contract basis until may 2022, will require you to work three days (22.8 hours) per week on Wednesday to Friday inclusive.

The successful incumbent will need to be extremely flexible and available to work in a variety of locations, often at minimal notice and occasional participation on the weekend roster may be required.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced pharmacist looking to diversify and broaden or further develop their skills in the provision of hospital pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dispense and supply medications in line with legal and professional requirements
  • Prepare medication profiles
  • Patient Counselling for high risk hospital patients on discharge
  • Responsible and accountable for daily operations of the role that is being covered
  • Clinical liaison with the relevant hospital wards and clinics including the provision of drug information, education and liaison with allied health professionals and service providers in the community
  • Clinical review and input of oncology and haematology protocols
  • Preparation and dispensing of a variety parental preparations, chemotherapy and TPN infusions in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice principles
  • Assist with business and process improvement.
You must have
  • A can-do attitude and team focus
  • Proven dispensary pharmacy experience
  • The ability to be flexible and able to work in a variety of locations
  • The ability to adapt quickly and easily to a variety of settings
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of hospital staff
  • A high level of attention to detail and precision in record keeping
  • Current registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia
  • Membership with a Professional Indemnity Insurance provider
  • Prior hospital experience is essential.
  • Experience in aseptic manufacturing and compounding Hospital is preferable
  • Drivers licence
