Description

Reporting to the Clinical Director, you will be a pivotal person in providing psychological support for clients of About Therapy. The role is for a Psychologist/Senior Social Worker to provide clinical services, treatment plans including counselling, assessment, mental health care plan management and work cover / allied health recovery plans to our clients. Experience in trauma work, couples therapy and working with families is an advantage.

You will be working with a diverse range of clients in our local community referred through local GP’s and word of mouth. You will deliver services to 6 clients per day. Your role will be to ensure that service delivery and clinical support are provided within the required service level agreements for the ultimate goal of meeting quality standards. You will be a part of the About Therapy clinical team that aligns professional standards to ensure consistent clinical service delivery and best practice to our valued clients.

This role is responsible for delivering optimal clinical service delivery, whilst meeting client and practice objectives. Working with caseloads that include crisis, trauma, mental health and relationship issues you will deliver services on-site or through telehealth. 

Overall, the key areas of responsibility include (but not limited to):

  • Effectively engage with your clients to contribute to their wellbeing 
  • Manage all clinical aspects of your clients case according to professional and practice standards and guidelines 
  • Work within clinical systems and procedures to manage clinical risk and delivery of time managed clinical services
  • Supporting regular and as-needed team engagement activities
  • Maintaining awareness of best practice of overall mental health and wellbeing of clients
  • Provide thorough and contemporaneous clinical records at all times

Profile

To be considered for this role you will possess:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in post-registration (AHPRA registration essential) 
  • Senior Social Worker with Mental Health Accreditation - Minimum 5 years post-registration experience (AASW Member)
  • Work Cover experience desirable 
  • Trained in short and long term interventions
  • Experienced in telephone, digital, and face to face counselling Excellent clinical report writing skills 
  • Experience in couple and family therapy is desirable
