To increase awareness of the benefits of the Cardiology, Sleep and Respiratory Medicine amongst medical professionals, and to directly promote our service offer to existing and potential referrers and build meaningful relationships with them over time.

This role is responsible for increasing referral activity, in addition to leading and supporting the state referrer team. The role will report to the General Manager, and will work closely with the Doctor group at GenesisCare to ensure communications, strategic business objective activities are delivered in a coordinated manner.

The referral team is responsible for delivering referrer engagement activities to a sophisticated medical network. In partnership with the network the team provides access to, and management of, high quality health services.

As a Referrer Engagement Manager you will build productive and effective working relationships with general practices and hospitals to raise awareness and facilitate referral pathways for our services.

What You’ll Do

Referrer Engagement

  • Build and maintain networks in the General Practice, hospital and other relevant medical community in catchment areas through regular interactions with existing and potential referrers and influencing healthcare professionals.
  • Execute liaison activities with General Practice, hospital and other relevant medical sectors.
  • Regularly visit GP practices, hospital wards/departments and other specialists and present the relevant GenesisCare proposition with the aim of generating referrals and maintaining/building referrer relationships. It is expected that the role will interact personally with referrers, Practice Managers/Nurses and key hospital personnel multiple times per week.
  • Ensure referral practices/sites are equipped with GenesisCare referral templates and forms and provide regular information/updates on referral pathways for our services. This includes ensuring referral ease through equipping referrers for electronic referrals and identifying opportunities for system improvements and efficiencies.
  • Maintain schedule of liaison activities for team members and GenesisCare practitioners including diary and medical software scheduling and management.
  • Follow up on referrer feedback received (including opportunities and complaints) and provide suggestions and feedback to National Referrer Engagement Manager as appropriate.
  • Manage suppliers to execute liaison activities, including caterers, printers.
  • Completion of administration tasks to support referrer engagement activities.
Planning, development and execution
  • Take a CRM driven approach to referrer engagement, including tracking of meetings, creating and updating profiles of referrers, and data analysis of referral trends and tools to identify opportunities.
  • Undertake formal and informal referrer research to understand referrer preferences and drivers.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of GenesisCare and role associated brands including their service offerings, referral pathways and value proposition.
  • Maintain and document knowledge of competitor activity and conduct competitor analysis as required
  • Lead and support the RE team to build a culture of performance and accountability
  • Take steps to ensure strong communication with remote teams, including monitoring of activity as required
  • In conjunction with the National Referrer Engagement Manager and local GM’s direction, lead local referrer and practice teams in the delivery of RE activities (eg events)
  • Be a subject matter expert on RE within the HC/SC leadership team, and advocate for HC/SC RE matters within the shared services marketing team.
Event Coordination
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of events, focussing on maximising the depth of relationship with referrers.
  • Attend events and identify opportunities for referrer engagement and growth.
  • Provide event support to ensure requirements are met for sponsors, presenters and attendees and ensure event objectives are met.

Who You Are
  • 3+ years experience in a similar role interacting with medical professionals.
  • Good leadership skills with experience in managing a team and inspiring confidence in displaying behaviours in accordance with organisation’s values.
  • Tertiary qualifications in scientific, healthcare, marketing/communications or business development fields.
  • Existing relationships with GP and hospital networks is preferred and relationships with key medical organisations is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of and experience working in, or with, a primary care setting, and ideally have an understanding of private health sector.
  • Provide direction, and supervision of referrer staff, promoting a culture of teamwork, performance and accountability among the team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate both through oral and written forms
  • Strong self-organisation skills, with high levels of motivation and resilience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to quickly learn technical content and confidently discuss with experts
  • Ability to understand a CRM driven approach and utilise data to deliver outcomes
  • A current Australian drivers’ licence
  • The ability to travel interstate
