JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior Accreditation Officer

Build your career with a best practice accreditation authority where our people are our competitive edge and where no two days are the same.

Who is the Australian Dental Council?

We are a not-for -profit values-driven organisation committed to protecting the health and safety of the public through accreditation and assessment in the oral health sector nationally and internationally.

We pride ourselves on achieving best practice in accreditation of programs and assessment of overseas qualified dental practitioners. We are leading the way in embedding cultural safety into the standards for dental practitioner programs and we are continually improving our standards and ways of working to ensure newly qualified dental practitioners meet the high standards required to practise safely and effectively.

About the role

No two days are the same in this position, which forms a core part of our Accreditation and Quality Assurance team. Reporting to the Manager, Accreditation, some of the things that you will be doing include:

  • Seeing first-hand how the ADC accreditation standards are applied and how your work contributes to public health outcomes.
  • Attending site visits to provide advice on interpretation and application of accreditation standards.
  • Maintaining systems and processes to ensure quality support and service to our stakeholders.
  • Acting as the coordination point for the Accreditation Committee, including drafting reports, agendas, committee papers and minutes.
  • Working with the rest of our Accreditation team to maintain and continually improve the quality of our processes and systems that deliver the accreditation of programs.

We are committed to providing flexibility in how, when and where you work, but there is a requirement to work in our Melbourne based office on some days each week and there is some infrequent travel required for this role.

The position will initially be for 12 months with potential to be made permanent for the right candidate.

About you

You are the person we are looking for if you have:

  • A positive and proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • An analytical mind, with the ability to synthesise information into considered reports and recommendations.
  • Experience working with Committees, including the development of agendas, minutes and committee reports.
  • Experience and confidence presenting to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and tight deadlines.

It would be ideal, but not essential if you also have

  • Some experience in accreditation, quality assurance or regulation.
  • Some experience in the health sector.

Why work for us?
