Source: uWorkin

The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) provides secondary and tertiary care to children and young people across the northern and western suburbs; specialist paediatric healthcare to the children of Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and parts of South Australia; and is the designated state-wide provider of services including paediatric trauma, rehabilitation and forensic medicine. As a quaternary centre for complex cardiac surgery and organ transplantation, the RCH cares for the sickest children from around Australia.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 6000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

Applications are now open for a Junior Surgical Registrar position in the Department of Paediatric Surgery from June 2021.

This position can be involved in the care of a range of general paediatric surgical patients including surgical sub-specialities and neonatal surgical conditions. Working within one of the busiest paediatric surgical services in Australasia, this role offers excellent supervision by consultant and senior registrar staff with great exposure to a wide variety of surgical conditions. The position does not involve after hours call initially but there is an ability to progress onto the on call roster. This is a great platform for future paediatric surgeons and urologists wishing to apply to the RACS Paediatric Surgery training program.

The position will run from August 2021 for an initial 6 month period. It is most suitable for a junior registrar ideally with some prior exposure to Paediatric Surgery.
