Your new team

The RMH(NWMH) mental health nursing entry to practice team has a vacant graduate/post graduate coordinator position for a mental health nurse interested in gaining experience in this important role.

The team coordinates, in partnership with clinical areas, a number of entry to practice programs for mental health nurses. These entry to practice programs include graduate/post graduate and transition to practice pathways. This position is for 12 months, works alongside our exsting graduate and post graduate nursing corindinator and will provide the right person with a rare opportunity to gain experience in this role with the support of a well-established team.

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

Support educational activities for RMH (NWMH)’s graduate and postgraduate nursing’s programs.

You will complement, and be well supported by, existing educational roles that work with entry to practice mental health nurses across RMH (NWMH).

You will contribute to the delivery and evaluation of learning support strategies for graduate and post graduate mental health nurses.

The role is based at Royal Park Campus but, as required, provides on-site education support to graduates and post graduates mental health nurses, at their place of work.

If you are passionate and interested in developing high quality evidence based pathways for emerging mental health nurse then come and hone your skills with like-minded staff in the mental health nursing entry to practice team.

Your Contribution

Experience in working with and supporting graduate and post graduate mental health nurses

A passion for mental health nursing education

Working as a registered nurse with a specialist qualification in mental health nursing for a minimum of four years

Capacity to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders

Autonomous and demonstrated capacity to work independently

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively

Commitment to ongoing professional development for self and for team members

A current Victorian Driver’s License, and ongoing ability to use this form of transport
